The Last Battle: 'Hope Is Gold' Single Launch Night
from www.WeGotTickets.com

Single Launch Night Show - June 22nd!

We’re really excited about this show. It seems like an age since we played  as a full band in public. It’s not that we haven’t wanted to, it’s just we’ve been super busy writing and recording for the next album.

The show is going to be held at Pilrig St Pauls Church on Leith Walk, a lovely venue, and will feature sets from William Henry Miller, Star Wheel Press and Where We Lay Our Heads.

Our new single ‘Hope Is Gold’ will be available on gold cassette along with B-side ‘The Crunching’, and will come with a download code for the 90% of folk who don’t own cassette players.

This will be a ‘bring your own bottle’ event and we’re encouraging you to come wearing or baring something gold in colour - the best will win a prize.

News: Details Of Forthcoming ‘Floored’ Music Video

In june 2011 we collaborated with Scottish Independent Film Maker Matty Ross to make a video for the lead song ‘Floored’ from last summers Springwell E.P. We were given an old vhs camcorder and told to individually go and put onto film what the song meant to us and how it made us feel. Matty also filmed us playing the song (accompanied by lots of fairy lights) in the back room of Leiths finest bar Sofi’s. (see screen shots above & below)

The production side of the video was delayed however due to Matty unfortunetly being involved in an accident and spending a  lot of time in and out of hospital. He’s made a slow recovery and like a man of steel has thrown himself back into finishing the video.

We’re massively relieved at Matty’s recovery, he’s one of the nicest chaps you could ever meet, and we’re also massively pleased to say that our very first music video will now be online within the next week!

Album Sessions Diary: 4th Jan 2012

So if you read yesterday’s ramblings you’ll know what the above photo means: No melted cheese on homemade bread today for us poor musicians slaving away in a nice warm studio. No, we plundered the local Sainsbury’s instead (feel free to guess what filling was in the sandwiches.) The crazy wind also decided not to make an appearance - yay.

Today was mainly spent nailing bass and guitar parts. ‘Perfecting The Art Of Saying Nothing’ really came together. If you’ve seen us live over the last couple of months you may have heard this one - it’s reaaalllllyyyy slooooowwwwww - but in a good way obviously.

Anyway, there will be more ramblings soon, perhaps not on a daily basis as we get busier, but the rambles will within a few days. Bet you can’t wait *sarcastic face*

Album Sessions Diary: 3rd Jan 2012

The ferocious Scottish winds looked like they would play havoc with our first day of album sessions today. It began by ripping tiles from the roof of the adjacent house of the studio, it’s name clogged up Facebook and Twitter feeds, and poor wheelie bins on Leith Walk lost their shit and ended up all over You Tube. Alas however, we were safe in our friend Keith’s lovely cosy purpose built home studio. Really suffering for our art. Things got so bad, that Keith’s wife brought us some snacks (see above) which included THE BEST CHEESE ON TOAST EVER. You’ll probably hear their melty goodness seeping through every pore of this album.

Despite the fantastic tray of food we did actually manage to get some work done, recording the bare bones of three songs - ‘Hope Is Gold’, ‘Perfecting The Art Of Saying Nothing’ and ‘The Crunching’. We return again first thing tomorrow morning. Hopefully the wind doesn’t. The real question though, is, since the bar was set so high in the food stakes today, and being very over presumptious here that we get fed again tomorrow - how will it be topped?!?
